Letter home from Elder Bryen North - June 23, 2914

Date:  June 23, 2014
Area: Oxford, Mississippi
Companion:  Breckenridge

Dear Meisters,

Sounds like a whole lot of busy going on back home, best of luck. I see things for the world cup here and there and have no clue what is going on.

As for the change, I am now in Oxford, Mississippi! I got sent about as South as possible and boy am I gonna sweat it. My new companion is Elder Breckenridge! First time I'm with a companion I knew previously, he's a great guy and we were both glad to be serving together. We'll see how long that lasts! The area is interesting and we have two prospective baptisms lined up. One we invited a few days ago, Rachel. Another is a young girl who has been coming to church for a while with her grandparents, I believe.

New Mission President should be in by next month, I really know about as much as you do on the subject.

This area will be a similar situation to when I was in West Memphis originally. My companion and I being the only missionaries for about 30 miles minimum.

Soon would be an excellent time to send the SD card, and also I need a package or letter to prove I live here now for the library.

Look forward to another transfer, I'm going to be over the hill soon!

After a little prompting I got a tad bit more information.

Letter home from Elder North - June 16, 2014

Date:  June 16, 2014
Companion:  Elder Jelte
Area:  Kennett, MO

Dear Family Matters,

I am being transferred! I will be contacting from a new location next week. Goodness, I'll have to pack again, what a pain. Let's see if I can still fit everything in two suitcases, my backpack and a box! Excited to see what happens.

For Father's Day the Father's got chocolate bars. I also do not remember what they said. They did have ties on them though.

Elder Jelte bought some Soda from a woman this week. It was a steal at fifty cents! Pretty funny. Probably doesn't sound that funny, but it was.

No investigators this week unfortunately. It's pretty difficult for Kennett to get people to church. I don't really like that, but it cannot be helped.

Crazy how much will be different when I return, but nice how much will always be the same.

Letter Home from Elder North - June 9, 2014

Heading to Zone conference
Date:  June 9, 2014
Area:  Kennett, MO
Companion:  Elder Jelte

Dear Boxen,

Another solid week and just like that, as always, the time is coming to a close. Six week chunks go by so fast and this one is closing already. It's been a fun time and we will see what the next transfer brings. It's still in a couple weeks but that feels like nothing really. I'm going to be home before I know it. To think in a month it will have been a year! I realized a few days ago that while I'm gone Mikel will have graduated! Madness.

Things have felt a tad stiff and we plan on going into some new areas to try and freshen things up and get things moving and shaking.

I got another card from Grandma Mary, onto the wall it went. Thank you all for your love and prayers.

Letter Home from Elder Bryen North - June 2, 2014

Date:  June 2, 2014
Area:  Kennett, Missouri
Companion:  Elder Jelte

Dear Rovers,

Image of the week - Witnessed an elderly woman scrap scales off a fish with a knife and bloodied gloves on carry a pleasant conversation with the local PTA. Also-I touched a previously sucked on mint thinking it was a marble.

The backing up thing prevents extreme car stories is the thing. Instead I often perform exotic little dances to signal my companion the all-clear.

If a missionary has to put a car in reverse the other missionary must go stand behind the car and direct them out so that nobody gets run over or nothing gets hit.

If I recall I received mail from Grandma Mary and Karoline. When Elder Jelte told me I had mail from "Karo and Mary" I thought it meant little Mary!

Trip to California, what's going on this year?

Our summer vacation will be to California this year to visit my aunt and uncle.

The best success going on here is what seems like the very firm reactivation of the Davis family by Blytheville Elders Steed and Sleet. It's great having another actual family in this little ward!

Gearing up for June to be an eventful month, and I believe we change Mission Presidents this transfer. That'll be interesting.
